Waste Management Flare Project

Curington Construction, LLC is proud to announce the commencement of a new blower and flare project in association with Waste Management, Inc., located at the Okeechobee Landfill in Okeechobee County. Slated to start this summer, the project is the first phase of three, which will ultimately result in several new methane gas-to-energy  generators operating from the facility. This first phase will produce a new system of blowers and flares to capture and prevent the landfill’s methane gas from being released into the atmosphere. An extensive network of piping will be laid to capture the methane which will be pulled through the system by blower mechanisms and sent to the new flares to be burnt off. In future phases the sulfur content captured along with the methane will be filtered out and refined, then the methane gas will be used to power new generators for energy production. Waste Management, Inc. is making great strides towards reducing the impact of our landfills on our environment and to turn waste products to beneficial use, and Curington Construction, LLC is delighted to work alongside them toward this goal.
